Today’s Scripture: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John 14:1-4

Last summer, we had an outdoor service at the Dayspring Bible College campus. During this time, I asked for testimonies from our people. Dolce Flores, one of our missionaries to the Philippines, was in town. She raised her hand to give a testimony. She explained the story of our church coming over to their church on a missions’ trip. While we were there, her husband, Pastor Nelson Flores, was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal brain cancer.

Nobody wanted to tell Pastor Flores the diagnosis, so consequently the job was handed off to myself and a doctor from our church. Even in a terrible trial like this, we could still see God’s hand in it. He allowed us to be there for Nelson and Dolce. She also told about the blessing our church was to their church by supporting them and sending their son-in-law, a Dayspring Graduate, Pastor Matt Wolff, to continue the work that they had started.

Dolce also recollected that when her husband died, she read a devotional from Victory In Grace. She remembered what the devotional was about and the verses in it, which were from John 14. It was very encouraging to see how God used these devotionals to be a blessing for her.

Maybe you are going through a very tough trial. I pray these verses will be as much of a blessing to you as they were to Dolce. Read the above verses again and meditate on them today.
