Today’s Scripture: So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Joshua 6:20

One of the faith actions we studied recently was that faith deflates our pride. When the conquest of Jericho was completed, the children of Israel couldn’t rightfully stand around and cheer, “WE did it! WE conquered Jericho!”

Instead, the only praise they could offer up was praise to God for His amazing work. It was His work and His plan. This showed that the one true God was with these people. It was faith in God’s promise that brought down the walls of Jericho.

Likewise, it was Moses’ faith in God’s promise that saved the firstborn Jewish males at Passover. The fact that Abraham believed so strongly in what God had promised allowed him to offer his only son, Isaac. Actions of faith bring glory to God.

God has given us these and many other examples in His Word. Why would we not build on that in our own lives? Why would we not ask, “What can God do through my life?”

With God, an inadequate human has everything and can do anything. Believe God; do what He says to do. Then, you, too, can show off His glory.
