Today’s Scripture: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:17–18

Paul Walker was what most of us would consider a “good” person. He had good looks, a nice personality, plenty of money, fame, friends, and even his own charitable organization. He was a star in many popular movies and television shows. However, none of that mattered at the end of his life.

On November 30, 2013, Walker and his friend, Roger Rodas, left a charity event in Roger’s red, 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. A few moments later, people at the site of the charity heard a loud boom and saw smoke. The red sports car had crashed into a light pole and a tree, bursting into flames. Walker and Rodas died at the scene of the accident.

No one likes to think about it, but the reality is we will all die someday. We may die at a relatively young age like Paul Walker, who was 40, or we may live much longer. We may be the victims of a tragic accident or die of natural causes. Regardless of when it happens or how it happens, death is as inevitable as taxes, as the saying goes. The question is, are you ready?

If you have not put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior, then you are not ready to die. Your sins have not been covered, and you will pay the penalty in Hell – separated from God forever. Your goodness, popularity, and money will not help you.

On the other hand, if you have accepted Christ and you believe that His death and shed blood have paid for your sins and that He rose again, then you have eternal life. You have accepted the gift of God, and you are ready to die.

Friend, where do you stand today? Do you know for sure that you will go to Heaven? You can. Jesus said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Put your trust in Him today. If you are already a Christian, then share the good news with someone else. Don’t delay, because everyone will die someday. You never know when it will be your turn.
