Today’s Scripture: For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety. Proverbs 24:6

A group of boys were fishing in Modesto, California. One of the boys caught something quite unusual. Nick Pole, one of the fishermen, said, “The game warden said it was probably a red-tail piranha or something.”

The California Fish and Game Department closed the lake. They were concerned that the fish caught was a flesh-eating South American Piranha.

Everyone was relieved to discover that the fish was identified as a pacu, a plant-eating fish that is in the piranha family. Pacu are expensive, exotic fish that people keep in aquariums. Officials said that the piranha and the pacu are often confused for each other.

Have you ever been in a situation that at first seemed to be a terrible tragedy? But after getting all the facts and learning the viewpoints of other people, it proved to be no big deal?

I managed many people every day when I pastored full-time, and I learned to find out the entire truth about a situation before I dealt with it. The Bible says that in many counselors there is safety. Taking some time to understand the true problem will save much heartache.
