|Today’s Scripture: By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible. Hebrews 11:24-27|
|How many of you are willing to serve Christ? If you are willing to serve Christ, then are you willing for your family to serve Christ? Are you prepared for that precious daughter of yours to answer the call of God in her life and become a missionary? Are you prepared for your bright, young son to become a preacher and endure a life with little in the way of monetary reward? Sometimes it is easy for us to say, “Well, I’ll serve Christ, but I don’t want my children to be out on the mission field somewhere.”
Others say, “I don’t want my daughter to go to a Bible College. I want her to go to a secular college so she can get the best the world has to offer.” My friend, the world has nothing to offer compared to what Christ has to offer. Christ is everything while the world is nothing.
We need to be willing for our whole house to follow the Lord. There can be no greater blessing in our homes than when our children turn out serving the Lord full time.
Moses didn’t see the riches of Christ when he chose to serve Christ. He only knew of the riches of Egypt. He could possibly have become the pharaoh of Egypt but that didn’t tempt him. By faith, he saw that it was far more important to serve the God of Israel than to do anything else.
Do you see through the eyes of faith? Do you see the eternal riches awaiting you as a Christian? Ask for the faith of Moses today. Ask to see this world the way God sees it, and go out and do something for Christ.
