Today’s Scripture: For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: RomansĀ 1:20

Everyone who has ever existed has had a specific fingerprint that is unlike any other. Not even identical twins have the same fingerprints. For that reason, we can identify a person by his fingerprints. In the same way, we can identify Who created the world by the fingerprints He has left.

If the God of the Bible did create the world, then we would expect to see certain things that He would do that mirror His characteristics. No other explanation can explain these “fingerprints.”

What are some of them?

  • Limitless space – We see a cosmos that is unfathomably huge. In every direction it goes much farther than any telescope can see. This is incredible when we consider how far we are able to see. Since space is unfathomable, we know the Creator must be all-powerful.
  • Unending Time – We are bound by the progression of time, but time itself doesn’t stop; it keeps going. We know that the Creator must be outside of time.
  • Perpetual Motion – We see everything in the universe is in perpetual motion. We know the Creator must be outside the limits of energy, matter, etc.
  • Unbounded Variety – We can’t imagine the next creature that will be found in the ocean because the Creator has an inconceivable imagination.
  • Unbelievable Complexity – We see even in the single cell there is so much complexity. The Creator of the cell, brain, ears, etc., must be all knowing.
  • Consciousness – We experience our own consciousness and see it in others. We can conclude the Creator must be conscious.
  • Emotion – We recognize love when we see it, but no amount of matter or energy could produce love. We know our Creator must be all-loving.
These and other fingerprints show that the God of the Bible is the Creator. It is Jesus Christ Himself. He is so far above anything we can imagine. That means He is so much bigger than any problem we are facing. Let’s live leaning and trusting in our Almighty Savior.
