Today’s Scripture: How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth! Isaiah 52:7

Every year, millions of dollars are raised by walks to support the research for cancer, diabetes, arthritis, MS… the list goes on and on. Because the diseases people fight against every day are a worldwide concern, thousands of people come together to search for a cure. Someday, those who champion this cause hope to find the world’s greatest cure.

As difficult as these diseases are to cope with, there is one greater than any other. It is the one we need to put all our efforts towards, no matter how great the cost. “What is so much different about this particular illness?” you may ask.

This disease causes blindness, depression, and loss of feeling. Those held in its grasp endure the sensation of fear, despair, and desperation each day. Without divine intervention, they are doomed to an eternity of misery with no remedy.

The term for this disease: Sin. The affected: all mankind. The cure: the clear gospel of grace.

No matter how much we fight to save the lives of those with cancer, we will all face death one day. No doctor, medicine, or research can ever change that reality. Sin separates us from God, Heaven, and hope. Without placing our trust in Christ’s finished work on the cross, we will all perish for eternity in the lake of fire, heavily shackled by the chains of sin’s disease.

The question for us as believers is-how far are you willing to walk for the world’s greatest cure? Sometimes the person who needs the message is a few steps away from your own front door, and the next person is only few steps further. Think of your family, friends, and co-workers-how far are you willing to go to share this cure with them? You can spread the world’s greatest cure – one step at a time. Take that first step this week.
