|Today’s Scripture: And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27|
|God has done so much for us. He created us, gives us the air to breathe every day, provides for our needs, and blesses us beyond comprehension. More importantly, He became a man that He might provide salvation for mankind. As He died on the cross and took our sins upon Himself, He sacrificed Himself to provide the payment for our sins. When Christ rose again, it proved God had accepted His payment. God’s justice and punishment for sin had been satisfied by Christ.
Now that we have trusted Christ and received eternal life, we need to ask ourselves some important questions: Is God satisfied with me? Am I living a life that would please Him? Can I honestly say like the Apostle Paul, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:” (II Timothy 4:7)? Am I living a life that I am confident will receive a “crown of righteousness” (II Timothy 4:8)?
Do we ever stop to think what God thinks of our life? I think too many times we just go through the motions of life and forget all that God has done. We lose the excitement we had when we first got saved. We need to remember the condemnation God gave to the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2. Though God commended them on all their works, He still condemned them for leaving their first love. They were still living godly lives, but no longer had the relationship with God that they had before.
Friend, we need to examine ourselves to see where we are at in our Christian lives. Is our relationship with God where it should be? We need to keep working every day so that we can receive the “Well Done” degree from our Savior. Let’s live our lives so that God is pleased with what He sees.
