Today’s Scripture: And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us. 1 John 5:14
A recent national survey revealed that seventy-four percent of doctors believe that miracles have occurred in the past and seventy-three percent believe that they can occur today. Seventy-two percent believe that religion provides a reliable and necessary guide to life.
I am not surprised that many doctors believe in the power of faith because they are on the frontlines of the battle. How else do you explain the healing of terminal patients? How do you rationalize the steady calm of a Christian on his or her deathbed?
God does not choose to heal everyone. Many dear saints have seen their lives cut short by accident or disease. This is not because of a lack of faith — it is because God has written this end into His perfect will. However, there are many times when miracles occur within the walls of a hospital, forcing even the skeptic to take notice. Our church has a mighty army of warriors on their knees. Quite often, their pleas to the Almighty have resulted in miracles, both big and small.
Don’t ever think that you’re too small to pray to a big God. Don’t ever think God can’t do the impossible – because He can. He can even make a believer out of a skeptic.
Let this be your prayer today: God help me to trust you in the hard times. Help me to feel your presence in my life. Help me submit to your perfect will.
