Today’s Scripture: But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10
Recently, I had the privilege of sitting inside the chapel of the Pentagon building in Washington D.C. where the plane struck on 9/11. I was interviewing a general who was in the Pentagon during the attacks, and he talked about the impact that the 9/11 attacks had on his life.
It made me think about what an impact four airplanes had on our country. Thousands of people died that day. All the airlines were grounded. The stock markets were closed. Gas prices rose dramatically.
Can you imagine this kind of calamity on a global scale? Millions of people just instantly disappearing. Surgeons vanishing during surgery. Airplanes, trains, and automobiles crashing because they no longer have someone operating them. Looting, riots, turmoil, certainly martial law – this will be the perfect opportunity for someone to step into the vacuum and take over the leadership of the world.
The Rapture is coming, but not everyone who names the name of Christ is going to be taken. Many people think that they are Christians because they go to church a few times a year, give money to charity, and live generally good lives. Being born again is not about how good you are – it is about accepting, on a personal level, the payment that Jesus made for you on the cross.
Are you ready for the return of Christ? Are you trusting in His grace, or are you trusting in your own works to save you? Make sure you are ready – you do not want to be left behind!
