Today’s Scripture: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;┬áNot slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;┬áRejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Romans 12:10-12

“We should use the smaller steeple. It’s more economical,” said Mr. Morris.

“I disagree. The larger steeple is much more suitable for the size of our building,” said Mr. Jones.

The two church elders began to quarrel about the steeple for the new church building. The next Sunday, they both presented the idea to the church and took a vote. Soon, the church was split in two over how big the steeple should be. Finally, the head pastor decided to go with the smaller steeple to save money. As a result, the faction who wanted the larger steeple left the church.

Far too often we get upset over minor details. “Well, so and so said this,” or, “I did not agree with pastor’s decision to put a fence around the church property.” Satan loves touchy disciples because it shifts the focus from God to self. Although we should not ignore changes which include incorrect doctrine, we should not get upset over minor details like steeples.

Do you find yourself consumed with being offended? Whether you are not in agreement with what a brother or sister in Christ said, or you do not like a recent change in the church building, do not let Satan win by turning your focus from the Lord. Make the decision today not to be a terribly touchy disciple. When you do, the size of the steeple will no longer matter.
