Today’s Scripture: Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. Acts 20:31
A park ranger in Yellowstone National Park was leading a group of tourists. He was busy showing plants and flowers to the visitors, and the calls on his radio kept interrupting his train of thought. Finally, in frustration, he turned off his radio. The group kept walking along the path towards a fire tower. Suddenly, another park ranger came running up the path from the tower. “Why don’t you have your radio on?” he exclaimed breathlessly.
“Well, it was bothering me, so I turned it off,” the first ranger replied.
The second ranger told him, “For the last half hour we have been watching your group from the fire tower. There’s been a grizzly bear stalking you, and we were trying to get your attention on the radio!”
This ranger was being warned about an approaching danger, but the warnings were not getting through. I hope you are listening to what God is clearly saying in His Word. This Book of wisdom tells us that if we want to be blessed, if we want to be balanced, if we want to be happy in life, we need to not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. We need to avoid standing in the way of sinners or sitting in the seat of the scornful.
Let’s unlock God’s fresh start for our lives by listening to this warning of what not to do. Someone once put it this way – “If you follow the wrong counsel, you will stand with the wrong companion, and finally sit with the wrong crowd.”
Did you know that all the water in the ocean can never sink a boat, as long as the water stays out of the boat? Christian, we are living in the world. We are surrounded by the world. Let’s not let the water of the world into our lives.
