Today’s Scripture: Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth. Psalm 115:15

Take a moment to reflect upon the words in this song:

When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessing, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done!

No matter what we’re facing in this life, we can have hope by being reminded of God’s goodness to us. If we would try to think of all the blessings we have, there is no way we could ever come close to all the Lord has done for us. Psalms declares, “Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits.” (Psalm 68:19) We are also told that God’s thoughts toward us “are more than can be numbered.”(Psalm 40:5)

He has blessed us beyond our comprehension, so when you’re tempted to dwell on the problems you are facing, think of all the problems He has brought you through. Count your many blessings, and you will see what God has done.
