Today’s Scripture: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. RomansĀ 12:3

In this day of instant gratification, we often think we deserve it all now. You pull into a fast food restaurant, and if you don’t have your food in 5 minutes, you’re upset. You send a text to a friend and if he doesn’t respond immediately, you wonder why he isn’t talking to you or what terrible thing happened that caused him not to respond.

We would never say this, but the truth is, we think this way because we think the world revolves around us and get upset when something happens that interferes with our schedule. We get upset over little things because we think we deserve everything to work out our way.

But in reality, the world doesn’t revolve around us. Every other person on Earth is just as important as we are. They have things in their lives that have to be done just like we do. When we come to realize this, we will not be so easily aggravated by inconveniences that pop up along the way.

Instead of lashing out at others because you feel you have been wronged, determine to help them with their problems. We have no right to think or behave as if we are better than someone else or that our problems are more important. Make an effort today to show others that they are important too.
